There are two ways to apply for a PAN card using PAN Form 49A online, one platform is through NSDL and another platform is UTIISL.

How to Apply for a Pan Card Using Form 49A Through Nsdl?

Step 1: Begin by visiting the official NSDL website at https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan2/

Step 3: Select the appropriate application type: Form 49 A for Indian citizens.

Step 4: Choose the relevant category from the provided options.

Step 5: Carefully enter all the required details.

Step 6: Pick a title to be displayed on the PAN card (choose from Shri, Smt, or Kumari).

Step 7: Provide your Last Name/Surname, First Name, and Middle Name (if applicable).

Step 8: Specify the Date of Birth (DOB) in the format DD/MM/YY.

Step 9: Enter your active email address.

Step 11: Agree to the provided guidelines by ticking the relevant box.

Step 12: Enter the CAPTCHA code and then proceed to submit your application.

Step 13: You will be directed to a payment page where you can make the payment. The fee is Rs. 91 (Excluding Goods and Services tax​) for an Indian communication address

Step 14: Choose one of the accepted payment methods, such as a credit card, debit card, net banking, cheque, or demand draft.c

Step 15: After successfully submitting your PAN card application, you will receive an acknowledgement number page. Make sure to print this page for future reference

.Step 16: Attach a passport-sized photograph to the acknowledgement page, sign it with a black pen, and send the acknowledgement receipt, along with the requested residence and identity proof documents, to the Income Tax Department within 15 days from the date of your online application.

Once all documents are validated successfully, you will receive your PAN card number on your registered mobile number and email address.

How to Apply for a PAN Card Using Form 49A Through UTIISL?

Step 1:Begin by visiting the UTIITSL official website and click on the “PAN Card Services” option.

Step 2:Select “Apply PAN Card.”

Step 3:You will be directed to a new page offering various choices, such as PAN card for Indian Citizens, PAN card for Foreign Citizens, Download e-PAN, and more.

Step 4:Opt for “PAN card for Indian Citizen/NRI”

Step 5:Now, click on ‘Apply for New PAN Card (Form 49 A)

Step 6:You will then be guided to Form 49A, where you can select either “Physical Mode” or “Digital Mode” for form submission. If you go for “Physical Mode,” you’ll need to sign a paper application and take it to your nearest UTIITSL office to get a physical PAN card.

Step 7:If you choose digitial mode, fill in all the required details, including your “Status of the Applicant,” and specify your preferred PAN card mode.

Step 8:Once you’ve filled out the form, submit your application.

Step 9:Make the necessary payment for your PAN Card through methods like demand draft, cheque, internet banking, credit card, or debit card.

Step 10:Following a successful payment, you will receive an electronic copy of an acknowledgment document.

Step 11:Print the acknowledgment paper, affix a passport-sized photograph, and sign it using a black pen.

Step 12:Within 15 days from submitting your online application, send the acknowledgment receipt, along with copies of identity and residence proof documents, to the Income Tax Department.
